HERO OF THE DAY

This look is fresh, it smells like flowers! The annoying Alexa Chung and her Chanel wardrobe... bag...shoes...dress... What else??? May I offer you an orange juice Miss Chung? Lou
When I saw her there yesterday night I wanted to knock her unconscious and steal her bag: how beautiful is it? I heart it. Plus, the super-cute dress and the adorable shoes. I don't know what she did to deserve this. No, seriously, what does she do? Tell meeeee!!! xxJuls

FASHION POLICE

OMG!!! Let me introduce you to a typical Londoner gorilla: Jamie Winstone. Please look at the position, legs wide opened, fitted satin dress, hair color... a disaster... the bag where has she found this antic Westwood piece and the shoes???? If this is British fashion, I can say that i am proud to be French! Lou
At the clockroom in the peak moment of the night she tried to pass by and she was almost walked over as she's probably as tall as David the Gnome. Then people looked at her and realized what she was wearing and at that point they wanted to walk over her on purpose. Her hair is unaccetable. the shoes-bag-leg position is unaccetable. xxJuls

Elle Style Awards

Yesterday night was the night of the glamour: at the Great Connaught Rooms in London a parade of celebrites made its way to this sumptuous room where awards for best actor and best designer, among the others, were handed by Editor in Chief and other VIPs....it all sounds great, except that was utterly boring and I quite don't get the point of giving these awards. Who decides the winners? because Kristen Stewart woman of the year is quite inexplicable to me....or Claudia Schiffer model of the year....I mean of the year 1993 ok, but of 2010 I don't know....I was seating in the PRs table, the farest you can from the stage so I basically had to watch the all thing from a screen (I could have been on my couch for that, without wearing a tight dress and a complete Laura Mercier make-up) anyway, I saw David Gandy - really really handsome - and I went home with a heavy goody bag. So at the end, thank you very much for inviting me....xxJuls

HERO OF THE DAY

I'm sorry but the temptation was too big: Tamsin Egerton looked amazingly cool and beautiful, still elegant last night at the Baftas. She was wearing an Alberta Ferretti gown and a Philosophy zipped belt. Having had a part in creating this outfit, I couldn't avoid to share it with you! Let me know what you think! xxJuls
Tamsin is beautiful! She has an amazing body and she can look very elegant. Love her necklace, hate her bag. Not sure about this belt with this necklace. But the dress with a wide belt remember me someone.... Lou

London Fashion Week

So tomorrow it starts: 5 days of shows, parties, presentations and buzz all around the city! The first BIG day is Sunday, starting with Matthew Williamson and then it goes on until Issa closes the big names......I've always been away during LFW so now I'm very excited to be here! and I also have a big party to attend..The Elle Style Awards on Monday! watch this space! xxJuls

HERO OF THE DAY

Juls: She looks more mature than her age, but Jessica Biel is absolutely chic in NY with soft curly hair, powder warm coat and nude heels (now a must!) well, the Chanel bag helps a lot eh!

Lou: I think what I prefer in this look is the coat. She looks really good; my problem is that in my mind I see her with a tank top on and training nike shoes... but no it is Jessica Biel and she looks stunning. Love the nude shoes, will definitely get a pair for myself very soon.

HEROs OF THE DAY

Today we have 2 heros, one for taste and one for bravery:
Olivia Palermo: as chic as possible in relaxed yet smart ensamble which screams luxury and coolness! ah Olivia, we wish we could..........xJ
Lou: How does she do? I really don't know. Right trousers, jacket, colors, necklace I love, nail polish also. 9/10 (because of the satin top, I would have preferred jersey instead)

Lady Gaga: in a twisted way this is an amazing look, it's even refined being white and so well cut. love the wig too. I'm becoming a fan, unexpected! xJ
This is far too crazy for me. I don't get her at all. Lou

Gourmet weekend

My weekend wasn't one of the most memorable in terms of activities (usual stuff Japanese lesson, pilates, rugby match...) but it was impressive for the food-related discoveries I made.
On Friday, on my way to meet my friends in a pub in Marylebone High Street I took the wrong street and I found myself in front of this little gem: The Golden Hind - Fish&Chips from 1914! I dragged my friends down and, despite it is very very busy, in 10 minutes we were seated (10 people!) and we had the most amazing meal for the cheapest price. This is definitely a hit!
Then on Saturday, not to lose the habit, we tried this charming gastro-pub on the corner of paul Street, near Old Street tube station. The atmosphere is cozy and the waiters are extremely kind (pretty unusual for a pub on a Saturday night). But the great surprise is the food: nicely presented and absolutely delicious! I had a chicken&mustard pie, which was delicate but tasty and totally fresh. I also had a pudding at the end (I normally don't!) which was chocolate-heaven.

KOREAN BBQ

Korean food is not as popular as Japanese or Chinese food and that’s a pity! It’s a very convivial atmosphere as you cook your meat and vegetables on the BBQ on the table. The quality of the meat is probably the most important factor in judging Korean BBQ, and beef is my favorite option because it is so tender, they cut the sirloin in very thin slices: delicious! Another positive thing, it’s not too expensive, £10 per person for the meat and £7 for 3 side dishes such as tofu, vegetables or rice. The most important to remember is that it’s certainly not the good option for a first date, cause of the smell of smoke she won’t let you come upstairs!!!! Lou

HERO OF THE DAY

Here we are, praising a 19 y-o gal, niece of Julia Roberts (she already starts favoured...) with endless legs and a movie career already well launched....jealous? me? noooooo........anyway, very nice outfit choice Emma, pretty dress hit shoes....you go girl! xxJuls
I love it!!!! That dress is lovely. I think it is clever to wear long sleeves when it is cold outside... ok a long skirt would be more coherent but if we had her legs we would choose to cover our arms instead. The neckline seems very pretty, the nude shoes... I was not a fan in the past but I must admit that it lengthens her legs even more. I would also like to mention that this girl has wonderful lips. It’s the girl to watch! Lou

Goodbye

London is mourning the death of brilliant Alexander McQueen. RIP. Juls&Lou

I’d love you for Breakfast

This is the most incredible idea I have heard lately.....these smart people from Betty Blythe deliver you an amazing breakfast to your doorstep, including newspaper! It would be nice as a Valentine's surprise actually! Imagine: croissants and juice, fresh bread and everything for a great cooked breakfast, eggs, bacon all without setting a foot outside your home! I would LOVE to have this delivered Sudnday morning...I would never leave my bed!!! Check it out at http://www.bettyblythe.co.uk/ xxJul

BAD SURPRISE

Do you recognize him? No because if you do, now you don't fancy him anymore. Bradley Cooper, ex of Jennifer Aniston, current of Renee Zewlleger.... the actor from "Hang-over".
What happened? Well, I guess what happened but don't you check? This is really for me a "tue-l'amour" ie a love killer. One less on my list, thanks Bradley. Lou

Savoury crepes!

So yesterday I tried a new recipe and I suggest it to everyone! Savoury crepes are very easy to do and they'll make you look like a pro in front of your friends: 30gr of butter, 2 eggs, 200gr of flour (I use spelt but you can use whatever you like), 500gr of milk. Whisk the first two together and then pour in the rest...easy! when it's all creamy pour a couple of spoons in a nonstick pan and that's it! when they are cool fill them with the ingredients you prefer (I made mine with cheese and ham), then cover them with bechamel or milk and stick them in the over for 15mins! Delicious! My boyfriend even had one this mornign for breakfast! Julsxx

HERO OF THE DAY

Lou: An angel! Poppy Delevingne arriving to a Chanel Event in NY.
We suspect a total Chanel look but it doesn't really matter at all. I love the jacket, the bag too obviously and the boots. A real British poppy!
Juls: She's adorable! But I would like to knock her down and steal the all ensemble! THAT jacket and THAT bag are beyond human comprehension. xx

FASHION POLICE

I don't understand why, but lately the fashion police has been pretty busy...our girls try hard but the results are often critical: an example of 3 is right here: Jennifer Garner, left, is the less tragic with her leather&lace bandeau dress....imagine....Anne Hathaway is SCARY: big eyes, big mouth, small dress: no proportion! Jessica Biel was probably drunk. no other explanations... Julsxx

Lou: First think that these 3 women have access to the showroom of all designers around the planet; that they are loaded so they can buy whatever they want....Finally look at what they look like to the Premiere of their new movie: clowns or actresses?

Frock me!

Girls! This is unmissable! At the Chelsea Town Hall on Sunday we'll all go crazy over amazing vintage pieces....I cannot wait...... There will also be a vintage tea room with some Valentine's day treats....How does it sound? Julsxx

FASHION POLICE

OK Catherine (Zeta-Jones), your hubby is older than you and you think that if you wear clothes suitable to your age he'll feel a wreck. you're sweet. but this is not a good reason for looking so dreadful. there's NOTHING we can save here. Please next time wear a waste bag on top of your outfit. Thanks. Julsxx
Oulalalala.... a mistake like this one is unforgettable and inexcusable.
This is a big fashion faux-pas. How can you Catherine? The boots are nice, why do you mix them with this horrible fur coat; God knows how important fur is to me; but shiny and old fashioned NO!
And this hat, and this scarf and the bag, looks like fake leather btw... where did you find those???

HERO OF THE DAY

Thank you Miranda Kerr, for giving us a chance to have a hero every now and then! we were lost in the atrocities of the weekend when we found you wearing this simple yet stunning mint jersey dress with blazer. effortless but super chic. I'll copy this. ciao Julsxx
That girl is so coool!!!!!! First because like us she wears several times the same stuffs (check out the hero of last Wednesday); also because whatever she wears, it's cool, chic and modern. Love those shoes! One question Miranda "where is your prada bordeaux bag"? Lou

MAKE-UP TIP

Yesterday after work waiting for my boyfriend before going out for dinner, I decided to take a look at Harrods. I went first to the shoe department tried on some Roger Vivier then went to YSL and tried 3 dresses, each one more beautiful than the other one and finally after spending £0 I stopped 15 meters from the exit at the Benefit make-up bar to check the new products. The sale's girl jumped on me, put on my face the brand new product called "One Hot Minute"; the principle: to make you look hot in one minute. I must say that I looked much better after. This powder is magical, very light; you can wear it with or without make-up on; on top of that she added the new blush “sugarbomb” and that was it, £45 less on my bank account. It was that simple!!!!!! Lou

SURPRISE

Hello Paris, Hello Carine! Today is a day with no hero, no fashion police; well thousands in fact but impossible to choose THE one; And then I saw that picture and I thought "Yeahhh".
Carine was heading to the Christian Dior S/S 2010 show so I don't know if that jacket is Dior, I would say Yves Saint Laurent but I don't know. Anyway this is nice “big time”, to use one of my ex-colleague expression. Beautiful fabric, love the grey shade and the originality of the jacket THIS IS FASHION! Personally I don't understand the color of the shoes... Lou
W Carine...Julsxx

Get organized!

There's an amazing service in London, which I wasn’t aware of and perhaps I need it: Practical Princess re-organize your wardrobe clearing it from stuff to chuck and colour-coordinate your items! I think this is crucial!! (they did it also to Tamara Mellon...)
They also sell some products very useful if you want to do this yourself at home: drawers-shoe boxes, adjustable hangers and a software to create your labels! I LOVE it! In fact, I’m already ordering something ;-)

xxJuls

HERO OF THE DAY

Lou: I want to be her!!!!!!! First of all, for her face and body, there's nothing to say, she is not even perfect she is better than that. For her look, she is stylish but not victim, she is elegant AND cool; I love her look, the mini coffee dress with the belt (look that I am unable to do for some reasons???) the jacket, the ponytail and THE BAG!!! oh and the shoes...maybe I simply need to move to LA.
Juls: well, yes of course she's pretty, but she looks too much like her dog too me. Great body, out of question, but is this really elegance? add a couple of cm to the dress and then maybe we can discuss this....xx

LE VOGUE BAR AU CRILLON

Already the title of this post is very cool. At the Hotel de Crillon in Paris, during Fahsion Week, it will open the Vogue bar: menu "on the run" of vegetarian, gluten-free dishes, smoothies with vegetables and many cocktails also non-alcoholic (English press will not like this :-). It will also host a "make-up station" run by the make-up artists from Lancome, for quick touch ups or custom consulting makeup! How cool is this??

Justice does exist in this world

After looking at the picture you understand better the title. To be honest, I am a fan of George but I understand that Brad may be a God for many of us. So when I found that picture I thought "I have a duty" I must share it with our males followers (we have one at the moment). Yes guys, there is justice in this world, Brad can look very very bad, it does happen sometimes. So girls, are you still after Brad or do you want to join George's club now? Lou

FASHION POLICE - THE GRAMMYS

We are not going to speak about the Grammys, but these two need a special mention: the 2 pieces-flowery-satin-one shoulder-ball skirt outfit is a pain for the eyes! my lovely girl, are you blind? who suggested this to you? and why are you smiling? there's nothing funny here!
The other one is a very brave woman: the look is so hideous that it cannot be true. nice panties....... Julsxx

She seems so proud of her....I feel very bad about making fun of her but this is not allowed!!! Purple, satin, with pink yellow and green floral embroideries…. Please tell me darling that your mother confectioned it for you???
Oh and concerning Sonny and Cher, Halloween is in October guys! Lou

HERO OF THE DAY

Guess who? Diane Kruger made it again! I just can't help it she's amazing and dresses amazingly... Vintage lace gown and furry jacket is my secrete dream and she makes it look so efforless.... I hate or I love you, I still haven't decided! Julsxx

Lou: I Love you Diane. This outfit is beautiful, elegant and cool. It does rock thanks to the FUR. I love fur, I don't understand why people have a problem with that. Probably because they don't dare!
Diane looks really good in ...vintage, if anyone knows the label please keep us posted.
